Detoxifying Water for Weight Loss

Water is therapeutic and if combined with certain ingredients flushes out toxins from the body and aids in weight loss. I am sure most of us have tried and deviated from our weight loss regime but with the advent of Infused or detox water, it is possible to loose weight without resorting to crash diets. Unlike many recipes this one is quite simple and should be sipped throughout the day for a healthy body and a beautiful skin. This recipe has the goodness of cucumber and lemon and the tanginess of oranges which is quite refreshing when the sun is out.

Benefits of the Ingredients Used to Make the Infused Water

Cucumber : Cucumber is a known antioxidant and fights free radicals. It keeps the skin hydrated and flushes out the harmful toxins from the body. It is widely used in various detoxifying recipes and diets as it curbs the appetite.

Lemon : Lemon is a rich source of Vitamin C and boosts the immune system. It aids in digestion and also gives an energy boost to the body.

Oranges: Oranges have Vitamin C which makes your skin lustrous and healthy. It lowers the bad cholestrol in the body and controls the blood pressure. It is also known to improve the metabolic rate and improve the digestive system.

Ginger : Ginger is loaded with various nutrients and compounds which has healing properties. It helps the digestion and fights against various seasonal ailments such as common cold and flu.

Mint : Mint has anti-inflammatory properties and is known to sooth the stomach. It improves the digestive system and cleanses the body.

Recipe for Lemon and Cucumber Water

Fill a jug or a large bowl with ice cold water. Cut a cucumber in half and further slice it and add it to the water. Now add half a lemon, few mint leaves, and some pieces of orange. Peel and slice 2 pieces of ginger about an inch or two and add it to the water. Put the jar in the fridge and let the water get infused with the goodness of all the ingredients for about at hour. Keep sipping this water throughout the day and let your body detoxify.
